Job Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring ongoing, transparent, and consistent communication, support, and engagement between CareOregon and Tribal health partners. Work is in support of services provided by CareOregon to American Indian/Alaska Native Medicaid members living in the state, as well as partnering with Tribal organizations and communities to promote the health of Tribal people. The Tribal Liaison/Program Supervisor is responsible for facilitating resolution of issues that may arise between stakeholders such as OHA, Tribal Health providers, Tribes, and CareOregon. This position serves as a direct link between internal staff, Tribal health partners, the Oregon Health Authority, Tribal leaders, and policy makers state and nationwide. Areas of focus include developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Tribal communities and stakeholders throughout the state – including the nine federally recognized Tribes of Oregon and the state’s Urban Indian Organization, the Native American Rehabilitation Association Northwest (NARA); supporting the work Tribes and Tribal communities are doing to eliminate Tribal health disparities; and contributing to CareOregon’s cultural responsiveness enterprise-wide. This position serves in a supervisory role and also acts as a direct resource to support ongoing and emergent needs and provide Tribal culturally responsive expertise to CareOregon, partners, and any organization statewide that serves and interacts with American Indian/Alaska Native Medicaid members in Oregon.
