Cape Fear Community College Hiring for Student Recruiter & Enrollment Specialist at Wilmington, NC  Full Time

DEFINITION:

As a member of the admissions team, the Student Recruiter and Enrollment Specialist recruits prospective students and is responsible for planning, organizing, and participating in recruitment activities and functions. The Student Recruiter and Enrollment Specialist implements outreach to prospective student populations, community and educational partners, manages campus tours, and delivers information sessions. They also guide prospective students through the enrollment process and respond to general inquiries from the public for information related to college programs and services.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

• Receives general supervision from the Sr. Director of Admissions, Student Recruitment, and Engagement.
• Supervises Student Ambassadors.
• Directs part-time/seasonal recruitment staff.

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate campus visits and prospective student information sessions, including individual and group tours, in-person and virtual information sessions, and other similar programs;
• Manage Student Ambassador Program, including hiring, training, and supervising student ambassadors;
• Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with service area schools (school counselors, teachers, etc.) and community-based organizations;
• Represent and promote CFCC at college fairs, school visits, community events and functions, and other recruitment activities;
• Track and communicate with assigned inquiries and applicants;
• Maintain database of recruitment and outreach efforts;
• Respond to electronic and phone information requests from prospective students, including admissions information, enrollment steps, detailed academic program information, and college services;
• Responsible for planning and participating in recruitment events, including open houses and other college-wide recruitment functions;
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to implement effective recruitment strategies;
• Work with the Community Relations Office in developing marketing strategies, as well as publications used in the recruitment process;
• Communicate with college officials concerning suggestions from prospective students and business and industry for new courses, programs, or updating of current programs/courses;
• Assist with coordinating and delivering orientation sessions;
• Coordinate special projects and other assigned tasks.

Other Important Functions:

• Assist in the promotion, planning, and coordination of activities and events sponsored by Student Services and Enrollment Management.
• Participate in the enforcement of the Rights and Privacy Act.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

• Knowledge of recruitment goal setting and monitoring of targeted student populations.
• Knowledge of student recruitment, inquiry management, and relationship-based marketing.
• Knowledge of human relations and personnel practices.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM’s, and student information systems (preferably Colleague).
• Knowledge of successful customer service practices.
• Knowledge of virtual outreach platforms.

Ability To:

• Perform related work as required.
• Work well both independently and as part of a team with individuals with diverse backgrounds.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully, both orally and in writing.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
• Some travel is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle if school vehicle is not available. Driving record must be free of any moving violations.
• Ability to travel between campuses on short notice.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Minimum Education/Training:

• Associate’s degree in Business, Communications, or related field

Minimum Experience:

• One year of professional admissions/recruitment (or comparable) experience
• Valid NC driver’s license with driving record that is within the parameters set by the college

Preferred Education/Training, Experience, Skills:

• Community College experience preferred
• Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred
• Experience using a CRM preferred
• Experience presenting to large and small groups preferred
• Virtual outreach and tele-counseling experience preferred

• This position requires flexible work hours, including evening and weekend work hours, as well as, occasional travel.

• This position requires a valid North Carolina Driver’s License that is free of any moving violations.
