The Department of Mathematics at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor. The expected starting date will be August 20, 2024. Qualified candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in curriculum refinement and implementation for developmental general education courses in mathematics. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate within the department in the construction and refinement of research-based curricula for the department’s developmental general education mathematics courses, especially those with companion co-requisite support courses. Moreover, we seek candidates with a robust research agenda in undergraduate mathematics education and will support the successful candidate in continuing to pursue this agenda. While the successful candidate will be the first undergraduate mathematics education researcher to join our department, there is an active community of undergraduate science education researchers in other departments in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $7,167 – $8,449 per month
CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,405 – $11,994 per month
