California Institute of Advanced Management (CIAM) Looking for Master of Science in Data Analytics Professor Full Time

The California Institute of Advanced Management (CIAM) is a WASC accredited, non-profit graduate school located in Alhambra, California.
CIAM’s approach to education provides a practical and hands-on approach to students who are thereby equipped to lead and succeed in
industry. Our emphasis is on the application of the subject matter and the student’s ability to demonstrate integration of the subject
matter into their lives. The university’s mission is “to build upon the philosophy of Peter F. Drucker, through classroom and
online learning, producing successful, responsible globally oriented leaders who are rooted in practice” using the principles of
Management as a Liberal Art and business sub-disciplines to educate, train, and send out managers and leaders who are prepared and equipped
for the needs of today’s organizations, communities, and society. The University offers in-person classes which are hybrid, with
weekend sessions on campus. Online classes are 100% asynchronous.

The university awards an MBA in Executive Management with
two concentrations:

• Project Management
• Business Analytics 

The university is also adding a
new MS in Data Analytics which will be offered fully online to start. Program is expected to launch in Fall 2024.

Please note that we are in search of a full-time professor to lead the MSDA program. The top candidate identified through this search
process will be offered the full-time role. However, other approved candidates may potentially be invited to teach for us as an adjunct
professor in the MSDA or MBA programs.

Additionally, CIAM’s Annual Safety and Security Report 2020-2022
report is available to you. This report is required by federal law and contains policy statements and crime statistics for the school.

The policy statements address the school’s policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and
security, for example, policies for responding to emergency situations and sexual offenses. Three years’ worth of statistics are
included for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus, in or on off-campus buildings or property owned or

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach graduate level
  classes in the following modalities: face-to-face, online and hybrid.
• Integrate the philosophy of Management as a Liberal Art into
  courses taught.
• Assist and provide direction to students in high impact learning experiences.
• Regularly hold office hours
  providing accessibility to students and colleagues.
• Attend Faculty-in-Service meetings and any requested staff meetings.
• Participate in Management as a Liberal Art training sessions and discussions.
• Represent CIAM to external constituents by
  bridging the academic and business community with the university to further the focus on high impact learning experiences for students.
• Support administration in course development, course management, and/or student and academic learning initiatives as requested.

Technical Expertise:

• Strong foundation in statistics and probability: This is
  critical for understanding data analysis methodologies and interpreting results.
• Proficiency in programming
  languages: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL), machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, and
  big data technologies. Additional knowledge of languages like Java and Scala is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization
  tools: Ability to effectively communicate insights through clear and compelling visuals.
• Knowledge of machine
  learning algorithms and techniques: Familiarity with supervised and unsupervised learning methods, along with experience in
  model building and evaluation.
• Understanding of big data technologies: Knowledge of data storage, processing,
  and management solutions for large datasets.

Domain Knowledge:

• Experience in applying
  data analytics to real-world problems: Understanding the application of data analytics across various domains (e.g., business,
  healthcare, technology).
• Understanding of current trends and challenges in the data analytics
  field: Knowledge of current and emerging trends in data analytics, such as AI, machine learning, big data, and predictive
  analytics, to keep the program curriculum relevant and up-to-date.
• Awareness of ethical considerations in data
  analysis: Ability to instill responsible data practices in students.

Teaching Skills:

• Advanced Degree: Typically, a Ph.D. in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related
  field.
• Passion for teaching and engaging adult learners: Strong pedagogical skills and ability to create a
  stimulating learning environment.
• Proven track record of research and publication: Demonstrates expertise and
  commitment to staying at the forefront of the field with a strong record of research in data analytics or related areas, and publications in
  respected journals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with
  faculty, staff, and students.
• Industry Experience (Preferred): Practical experience in the data analytics field,
  which can provide real-world insights to students.

Leadership and Administrative Skills

• Program Development: Experience in developing and managing academic programs, including curriculum design and
  accreditation processes.
• Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of faculty and
  staff, including hiring, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
• Budget Management: Experience in managing budgets,
  resources, and grant funding.
• Student Engagement: Skills in advising and supporting graduate students, including
  overseeing dissertations or thesis projects.
• Entrepreneurial mindset: Ability to identify and cultivate
  partnerships with industry and research institutions.

• Mentorship: Ability to guide and support students in their academic and professional development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Completed Ph.D.
  or ABD, from a regionally accredited university (official transcripts required with application).
• Minimum of 10 years ap plied
  business experience in the profession related to the degree area and teaching area.
• Experience teaching and facilitating in-person
  and online using various instructional methods.
• Familiarity with teaching via an LMS, experience with Canvas preferred.
• Published research in degree area is preferred.
• Demonstration of a life-long learner approach to the field and other
  subjects.
• Demonstrated value in the human dignity and strengths of everyone, regardless of their position or station.
• Commitment to cultivating and developing inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community

• Approved candidates will be invited
  for their first interview at our facilities in Alhambra, California, and then, to present a lecture and participate in a series of
  individual and group interview sessions.
• The Canvas Learning Platform is used for all classes.
• Must be able to travel to
  campus to teach for any in-person, hybrid courses. 
• On-site teaching dates include being on campus for one weekend per term,
  and to conduct live Zoom sessions two more times during the term for the MBA program. The MSDA program will be offered fully online to
  start, but may be offered in a hybrid format in the near future.
• If hired as an adjunct instructor (i.e., not the full-time MSDA
  role) payment range starts at $3,500 per course with opportunities for promotion.

BENEFIT SUMMARY

Salary will be commensurate with experience and internal

 $110,000.00 – $120,000.00 annually
