CACI has an outstanding opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Technician ( Part Time in support of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the location will be Virtual/Remote.

What You’ll Get to Do:
You will be providing installation and operational support to IT infrastructure components consisting of Cabling, Access Control, Network, Video, Customer Support, Security and Web Service functions. Technicians will also be supporting ongoing short and long term modernization projects for the USDA IT infrastructure.

  More About the Role:

• Research and provide information on outside plant and inside plant recommendations including alternate materials and installation solutions
• Assist with site surveys and document current site ISP/OSP ducting, cabling, equipment and racking inventory, and user requirements
• Follow engineering installation packages and work with installation team directing and overseeing the work of subcontractors
• Assist with low voltage and other related equipment installation, signal cable installations and cable connections and labeling. Other equipment installations include but are not limited to building access control systems, security camera systems, alarm systems, and wireless equipment.
• Assist with documenting related changes at each site
• Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Work to be performed from remote location and travel to customer sites as required
• Perform other duties as required.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in information technologies work and knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas: infrastructure cabling, access control systems, Networking, cloud, converged networks, voice, video, radio and data.
• There is no clearance requirement to begin employment. As a requirement of continued employment you will be required to obtain a clearance based on Government specified levels.
• Willing to learn complex OSP/ISP design and implementation
• Experience testing lower voltage and cabling related to equipment/systems and following standard test procedures, desired
• Experience in using common test equipment (e.g. Grounding Meter, Optical low voltage Meter, OTDR, CAT 5/6 test set, Multi-Meter), helpful
• Experience in inside and outside plant cabling, preferred
• Work is heavily laborious including lifting and carrying materials, boxes, equipment. Working on ladders as needed. Work within crawl spaces.
• Experience following direction and working in a team environment
• Active Public Trust or Secret security clearance
• Specialized industry and manufacturer certifications such as BICSI, CompTIA and other telecommunications certifications and training
