Job Description:
This position will work with the procurement team and other Detroit Public School Community District stakeholders to ensure that quality goods and services are delivered at optimal cost, on time, aligned with district priorities, and organized around the needs of schools in a manner that promotes the academic and social & emotional growth of Detroit Public Schools Community District students.

Manage Planning, Sourcing, RFQ (Request for Quote), RFP (Request for Proposal), and PO placement processes:
Analyze, evaluate, and issue requests for proposals as a result of customer requisition
Request supplier quotation from suppliers
Analyze the supplier quotation with RFQs issued and approve purchase orders
Send follow ups to the stakeholders for clarification, if necessary
Communicate timing and process cadence to internal and external customers.
Drive philosophy of continuous improvement on cost, quality, and delivery.
Represent DPSCD at cross-functional program management meetings with other Purchasing departments.
Deliver cost savings objectives/best price using all purchasing tools available.
Negotiate contracts and commercial rates.
Drive and coordinate target setting process.
Support pricing and target negotiations.
Prepare status reports to support purchasing reviews.
Escalate purchasing issues to leadership team as required.
Resolve account queries.
Identify process improvements.
Spearhead and complete special projects.
Manage relationships and day-to-day execution with suppliers and internal customers around supply, quality, delivery.
Build positive relationships with the supply base and internal customers by:

Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
