About the Role
As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you are responsible for owning Accounts Payable. You work cross-functionally with all departments to manage vendors, invoices, approval processes and more. You support different projects and work across all the Finance Team initiatives that bring the vision to life.
You are curious, empathetic, and able to evaluate problems from multiple angles and points of view. Your responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
*Maintain Accounts Payable internal and external email communications and invoice delivery
*Post electronic files for AP charges in the appropriate software system daily
*Prepare daily check runs
*Ensure all AP is correctly coded to approvers and GL accounts
*Set up all new vendors in the accounting system, and ensure the vendor master file records are kept up-to-date including vendor terms, vendor address, W9, ACH information and 1099 status
*Fill out vendor credit applications and submit to legal when required.
*Follow up on outstanding checks and maintain abandoned property files
*Organize and maintain auditable documentation and files
*Prepare month-end, year-end close, and specially requested reports for management or audits
*Support Month-end close procedures including account reconciliations
*Support weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting, compiling data and metrics
*Train new approvers on how to approve invoices in our AP system
*Collaborate cross-functionally with all internal departments
*Work with the Accounting team on various projects such as system implementations and accounting operational improvement
*Proactively help to investigate and resolve questions from vendors, customers, and internal business partners around A/P
*Accurately code and route invoices to correct departments
*Participate as an active member of the Finance & Accounting Team
*Engage in department meetings and content
Requirements
*Previous experience in Accounts Payable
*Understanding of general ledger
*Experience with MineralTree or similar software
*Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize as needed
*Ability and willingness to adapt to an ever-changing, sometimes ambiguous environment
*Excellent problem solving and communication skills
*Strong attention to detail
*Excellent organizational skills
