Bismarck State College Looking for Academic Dean of Distance Education & Learning Support Services Full Time

Online Learning:

• Develop and implement the vision
  and growth plan for BSC online learning.
• Develop short and long-term plans to increase quality, scalability, and sustainability of
  online student learning.
• Provide innovative opportunities to grow online enrollments for new students in non-credit and credit
  formats.
• Collaborate with academic affairs to ensure the implementation of flexible learning environments and online faculty and
  adjunct development that supports high-quality instruction.
• Provide supervision of online learning compliance and accreditation
  (NCSARA, etc.).
• Assess existing programs for enrollment maximization.
• Develop recommendations for high-quality, consistent
  online course shells and structures.
• Manage online course and program outcomes.
• Recommend policies and procedures for the
  management of online courses and programs.
• Collaborate with NDIT and BSC Information Technology Solutions & Services to ensure
  smooth and reliable services for online learning courses.

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA):

• Collaborate with the
  VPAA and Academic Division Deans to ensure the equitable implementation of prior learning assessment of student experiences to college
  coursework.
• Effectively use the assessment of prior learning to build online enrollment and completion.
• Manage PLA
  procedures and practices to maintain consistency with standards related to regional accreditation.

Non-traditional Populations:

• Collaborate with the VPAA and Academic Division Deans to develop curricular offerings meeting the needs of the working adult and/or
  part-time student learner.
• Collaborate with the VPAA and Academic Division Deans to develop recommendations of CBE frameworks for
  college programs.
• Collaborate with the VPAA and Academic Division Deans to develop programming and content of online late start
  schedule.
• Collaborate with VPAA and Academic Division Deans on developing new online programs.
• Collaborate with VPAA and
  Dean of Continuing Education to develop online pathways from non-credit offerings to credit programs.
• Collaborate with Academic
  Division Deans in developing online education partnerships with K-12 Districts, the Department of Public Instruction, the North Dakota
  Center for Distance Education, and others.

Professional Development: Collaborates with the Academic Division Deans to
support the creation of online instructional professional development plans for Assistant Deans, faculty, adjunct, and staff.

Collaboration: Collaborate with all academic and operational deans.

Grant Oversight: Leads the appropriate BSC
personnel for the implementation of grant-funded projects including providing data for reporting purposes and closeouts.

Partnerships: Engages with public-private partners (P3s) including K-12, BILTs, and
CTE.

External Relations: Attends and represents BSC at local, regional, and national conferences and events.

Innovation: Promotes innovation, creativity, and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, and effectiveness of online
programming with the academic divisions.

Serves as an active member of the Campus Council.

Other duties as assigned.
