Immediate special education teacher job opening near Midland, North Carolina. Not remote and must work onsite. We need an Educator with experience working in a self-contained classroom with emotional and behavioral disabilities (EMD). Must be willing to work onsite since remote is not an option. This classroom has approximately nine students. Full-time resource settings are available too!

• January /February 2023 start ideal
• 40 hours per week (8 hours)
• One school site
• Monday – Friday
• Self-contained middle school
• 9 students – 1:1 and small groups
• Ample support -full-time paraprofessional and lead EC teacher if needed.

Certification and Licensure

• Special Education Endorsement
• Active North Carolina state teaching license
• Certified through North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI)
• Categories emotional, behavioral disorders

General description:

• Plan and develop a course of study that is aligned with each assigned special education student’s Individualized Education Plan and is consistent with curriculum guidelines of the school district and the state.
• Develop lesson plans in support of each special education student that include a variety of strategies to encourage student engagement.
• Assess student learning as prescribed in the student’s Individualized Education Plan.
• Collaborate with other staff members in the planning for Individualized Education Plan meetings.
• Administer standardized tests in accordance with accepted protocol and state regulations.
• Collaborate with team, staff, and parents regarding progress.
• Utilize the Response to Intervention strategies developed by the district to address the unique to learning needs of students.
• Knowledge of ECATS software is a plus not required.
