Job Description Summary:
To select, mentor, train, and evaluate the work of Supplemental Instruction (SI)
Leaders; advise Austin Community College (ACC) students as necessary; recommend Supplemental Instruction sections; schedule, support, and
train a team of SI Mentors; and perform tasks to help maintain and develop the SI programs districtwide.

Description of Duties and Tasks
1) Recruits, recommends for hire, observes and mentors the
hourly SI Leaders.
2) Plans, conducts, and facilitates ongoing training sessions in conjunction with SI team for incoming SI
Leaders.
3) Identifies high risk courses and makes recommendations for SI courses, faculty, and securing instructional resources for SI
at assigned region (North, Central, South).
4) Recommends revisions pertaining to the development of training materials for program,
compiles data, prepares reports and evaluations.
5) Advertises and represents the SI program at internal and external college functions
at assigned region (North, Central, South).
6) Creates internal SI marketing materials and updates the Google sites.
7) Provides
academic advising to student SI Leaders and students completing SI sessions.
8) Assists the SI Manager in planning and preparation of SI
sessions using a wide variety of the identified strategies.
9) Assists and provides instruction to SI Leaders on how to create session
handouts and flyers; and gives final approval on handouts to be used in credit sections at assigned region (North, Central, South).

Serves as a primary liaison with departmental administrators and faculty members, addresses questions from the faculty. Facilitates
communication between faculty and SI Leaders, as needed.
11) Determines appropriate times and scheduling of SI sessions and makes and
confirms arrangements for facilities for SI sessions at assigned region (North, Central, South).
12) Models appropriate professional
attitudes and behaviors to SI staff, students, and others on and off campus.
13) Oversees the SI Hub and compiles attendance data in
the SI Google Drive.
14) Schedules, trains, and supports a team of SI Mentors.
15) Facilitates training with a team of SI
Mentors.

* Two years related work experience.

* Bachelor’s degree.
Special Requirements
* Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable
transportation needed for local Austin area travel.
Physical Requirements
* Work is performed in a standard office
or similar environment.
* Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
* Occasional lifting of
objects up to 10 pounds.
