To serve as lead with food preparation and serving staff assuring a positive customer service experience.
Job Description:
Description of Duties and Tasks
1) Leads the work of other food service personnel. May train and coach new staff.
2) Assists with food handling cards, and Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) certifications, training about checklists, and assures that staff has been shown how to perform all tasks expected whether by directly training the person or having the new employee shadow a more experienced employee.
3) Assists with the scheduling of staff taking into consideration peek customer times, occasional requests for time off from staff, skills and experience of staff, and control of overtime expenses assuring coverage at all times
4) Assists with scheduling and assigning side work for the end of each shift; may assign other tasks during the work day; checks on scheduled cleaning and sidework; addresses any issues regarding sidework or other assignments with employee as needed.
5) Oversees preparation and delivery of food to assure prompt, courteous service and appropriate food preparation standards in preparation, storage, and cooking are followed and met assuring compliance with state guidelines.
6) Inventories supplies, discusses kitchen needs with staff, and orders supplies and food as needed to maintain a reasonable inventory level and appropriate shelf life for food products; records receipt of merchandise matching requisitions to receipts; researches and investigates any shortages in order and reports those to supervisor.
7) Addresses any potential safety or security issues for customers or staff and notifies supervisor; may consult with supervisor prior to taking action if time permits; notifies supervisor of any malfunction of facilities (lights, security, restrooms) as soon as possible.
8) Assists with creating a customer friendly atmosphere by assuring customers are greeted with enthusiasm, orders promptly taken, food is timely served at proper temperature and attractively plated, checks are duly paid, and language and tone of staff is suitable for a family environment.
9) May perform cash handling functions; checks to see if the register balances; reports any discrepancies to supervisor as soon as possible.

Physical Requirements
* Work is performed in a kitchen and food serving area.
* Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling, and at times subject to stooping, crawling, and climbing.
* May need to lift heavy objects of up to 50 pounds.
* May be exposed to a variety of temperatures, noise, moving mechanical parts, or chemicals.
