Your Role

You are a detail oriented professional with strong time management skills looking to build a career within production planning with an international company supporting global customers.

This role will work on the manufacturing team to manage the internal and external logistics of manufacturing a custom order. You will spend a quarter of your time on our production floor working closely with the manufacturing group. Due to the nature of our custom engineered environment, project tasks will vary, as will your day to day. You will be part of a team committed to the Atlas Copco vision of remaining first in mind and first in choice for our customers and key stakeholders.

What you will own & improve:

1. Project Performance: Creation of requisitions while implementing our project specific quality requirements in a timely manner to ensure project execution is successful.
2. Quality: Ensure customers quality standards are being met by reviewing Inspection and Test Plans, processing Nonconformity and Engineering Change Management reports, and performing weekly audits of manufacturing documents and drawings.
3. Scheduling: You will support the team with monitoring project schedules and sending inspection notifications to project management, monitor schedules and supply material status updates for incoming materials , and assist in providing weld and device counts.
4. Administration: Ensure there is prompt completion of administrative duties including converting package planned orders, printing of production orders, assembling of build books and weld logs, and documentation of completed units.
5. Collaboration: Partner with other internal departments including engineering and manufacturing to provide weekly and daily updates to achieve project targets.

What you will learn (if you don’t know already):

1. Understanding how to read Inspection and Test Plans.
2. How to interpret basic engineering drawings.
3. Our SAP ERP and Office Suite.
4. The project lifecycle in a custom engineered manufacturing environment.

How Success is measured:

1. Demonstrated effective communication and relationship building with the key project partners.
2. Tasks are completed on time to keep manufacturing process on schedule.
3. After communicating project needs, you work together internally to implement necessary changes and ensure customer satisfaction.
4. You can understand Inspection and Test Plans, Nonconformity Reports, and Engineering Change Management within the first year.

About the Team:

This role reports to the Package Manufacturing Scheduling Team Leader. Other team members include two other Package Planners. The team works together to achieve common goals, while having the ability to complete tasks independently.

The role will work closely with the other departments on site which include Engineering and Manufacturing. This role will spend about 25% of their time working with the manufacturing team on the production floor with material and progress related status matters.

Atlas Copco Comptec LLC is located in upstate New York, 20 minutes from the State Capital. We specialize in design, manufacture, and servicing of custom engineered compressors for Energy and Industrial related markets, including but not limited to, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Renewable Energy, Air Separation, and Power Generation. Engineering, Production, Finance, Human Resources, and Sourcing are all located on site.
