JOB ROLE

Working with the Delivery Excellence group, the Lean Agile Performance Manager shall lead and develop the Solution and Service Delivery (SSD) organization in growing its Lean-Agile maturity. The role aims to continually boost performance in terms of lead-time throughput, lowering costs, improving quality, and growing customer satisfaction whilst having a continuous eye on employee engagement.

At the heart of SSD is SaFe Agile and the candidate will have deep SaFe Agile experience with an attitude and eye for continuous improvement. Working with the platform delivery leads, the Lean Agile Performance Manager will ensure consistent and affective ways of working are embraced across c40 agile release trains through leading a Community of Practice. The role will seek to both continually evaluate methodology adherence, using techniques to constantly look to identify and eradicate activities not of value to customers.

The Delivery Excellence group are tasked with driving for consistency and simplification, promoting lean execution, and have a continuous eye on improvement. The role of the Lean Agile Performance Manager is central to this and shall also be one that always seeks to evolve our ways of working, looking for opportunities to develop our operating model continually.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Defining standards for SaFe Agile execution by developing and managing processes, people, tools, and templates to ensure lean execution of Agile release train delivery
• Be the leading SaFe Agile practitioner targeting methodology consistency and excellence across the SSD
• Mentors SSDs RTE and Scrum /Lead Manager network and leads platform delivery community of practice
• Owns SaFe Agile maturity assessment and continually targets areas of opportunity to ‘return to Agile’ ensuring the benefits of agile delivery are continually realized
• Provides expertise and guidance on all layers of the SaFe enterprise framework from Team to Enterprise/portfolio level
• Partners with Agile CoE and remains up-to date in the latest evolutions of SaFe
• Supports Ignite ADF re-engineering program as a Product Manager/SME
• Lean Focus:
  • Mission to ensure the highest quality, the lowest cost, the shortest lead-time with a steadfast focus on improvement
  • Uses SSD KPIs, metrics, leading indicators, as well as implementing lean analysis and retrospectives, to enable a continual focus on delivery performance and quality
  • Partners with the Senior Operations Manager as a Product Owner in efforts to develop dashboards and performance reports, seeking to automate where possible
  • Partners with PMO to continually evaluate delivery performance triggering transformation initiatives with the Transformation Lead
  • Leads a problem-solving culture, establishes root causes, unearths improvement opportunities based on facts
• Ensures Agile/Release train delivery standards, execution controls and approaches are consistency across the portfolio
• Chairs the PM community of practice within the SSD as well as being a member of the wider cross-enterprise CoP continually evaluating new and improved ways of working.
• Drives onboarding of new platform and product delivery Release Train Engineers, Scrum Masters and Scrum Leads to ensure standards are committed to from the outset.
• Provide subject matter expertise in manage budgets and forecasts. Co-owns the E2E Recharge model and continually seeks efficiencies in execution.
• Experience of working with external vendors and partners
• Experience working in fast-paced and demanding environments
• Strong documentation ability with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outcome and results driven, not task focused, with excellent attention to detail

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum education requirement – High school Diploma
• Certified Scaled Agile Framework Leading SaFe Agile 5.1 educated
• Significant experience in senior delivery roles in an Agile delivery organisation
• Experience in Agile delivery execution across multiple release trains of varying size and complexity
• Previous experience of either developing new, or enhancing existing Agile execution frameworks to a successful outcome
• Prior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good eye for business
• Technical proficiency in project management, execution, and delivery and / or portfolio management experience, along with the ability to adapt and innovate
• Has a solid understanding of project and programme management methodologies and industry best practice
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team with excellent people leadership skills
• Has demonstrated management ability, proactive development, motivation, and engagement of the team
• Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring, and inspecting budget, schedule, quality, and 3rd party performance
