The Position
This individual has the responsibility of managing the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (MDRP) and processing and reconciling the Medicaid claims utilizing the Model N System. Responsible for preparing Medicaid analysis as required. The individual may also assist in the development and implementation of processes and programs to ensure Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI) compliance with the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (MDRP). The individual will develop action plans, as needed, to continually manage the dispute resolution process, assist in updating Statements of Work & work with Government Pricing on URA discrepancies and assist with the mid & year end SARBOX audit reviews as needed. The individual will also closely work with the teams Manager to develop monthly and quarterly reporting (e.g., Dashboard reporting: cash flow & accrual forecasting) as required and may be required to co-manage team projects. The Associate Manager may serve as a backup to the Manager.
Relationships
This position reports to a manager in the Government Contracts & Operations group. Interacts with field and home office management regularly. External relationships include Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), State Medicaid agencies, and field sales personnel regarding reporting and analysis needs.
Essential Functions
Data Analysis and Government Reporting
Analyzes and ensures accuracy of state rebate formatted data for each level of processing. Identifies and analyzes performance trends and provides recommendations to management.
Responsible for data validation processes using Excel, Access and SQL, Model N
Prepares and provides standard contract reports (i.e., sales, rebate pricing, reconciliation, tax reports) to field sales and home office management. These reports include sales and trending reports used by upper management for the purposes of strategic decision-making. Also prepares and distributes dashboard reporting on KPIs including interest management and dispute resolution statistics. These reports also include federally mandated government sales reports that are submitted quarterly or annually
Reviews and analyzes contract terms and conditions. Ensures data in the Medicaid system reflects the contract terms for accurate processing
Medicaid Rebate
Acts as company liaison, negotiating with state Medicaid agencies regarding dispute resolution with a third-party Consultant. Quantifies and accounts for dispute exposure. Prepares processes for the team to manage disputes as required
Attends Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) forecasting meetings and provides guidance to FP&A Department on potential future Medicaid events that could impact rebate forecasting
Develops and distributes quarterly analysis of Medicaid Rebate Liability
Ensures compliance with SARBOX requirements and may lead the mid & year end audit process
Maintains and is an expert in operation of Model N Medicaid Rebate Processing systems
Responsible for the timely and accurate processing and payment of Federal and State Medicaid Rebate Invoices. Reviews state utilization data for reasonableness. Prepares/reviews quarterly Medicaid, ADAP, SPAP (State Programs), and Supplemental Invoices and ensures compliance with prescribed filing dates
Stays up to date and applies knowledge of the Medicaid Rebate legislation including Federal, Supplemental, and individual state programs
Works with Strategic pricing to review operationalizing of Supplemental contracts
Medicaid Systems Maintenance/ Contract Administration
Responsible for timely check requests and reporting to sales and rebate customers
Medicaid Systems Maintenance
Assist internal and external customers with basic questions or problems arising with contracts
Formats incoming claims data (received on tape, diskette, etc.) from contract customers; ensures rebate claims data is in proper format
Identifies missing claims data and works with customers in gathering and obtaining this data
Training and Development
As assigned, will co-develop training plans for new associates joining the Medicaid team
Utilizes and Enhances Rebate and Processing Technologies
Performs Medicaid system testing to ensure proper function
Recommends system and process improvements to ensure best in class Medicaid systems and processes
Physical Requirements

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may be substituted for degree considered
A minimum of six (6) years related experience (financial analysis, Managed Care, Medicaid, and government price reporting) required with 2 years in Medicaid preferred
Analytical & strategic thinker capable of identifying both the depth and breadth of data required to accurately answer questions
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required
Intermediate proficiency in Access, Showcase Query, Macros & VBA is desirable
Effective communicator, persuasive in support of conclusions
Knowledge of State Government Contracting and Federal Government Pricing Calculations is desirable
Knowledge of the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program (MDRP) is desirable
Builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders to build an understanding of business objectives.
Planner and forecaster savvy with recognizing trends, establishing forward progress, and focusing on the big picture as well as key details
