The Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) team manages key business and technical infrastructure at Apple – how we take an order online, the experience with technology in our retail stores, how much network capacity we need around the world, the processing of every credit card an iTunes customer uses, and closing the books. IS&T does it all. Our Global Infrastructure Operations group serves as the central point for monitoring, event management, and coordination/implementation of resolution efforts. We are looking for a highly motivated System Administrator who has the skills and experience to support Apple’s Global Infrastructure. As a member of Appleʼs Global Infrastructure Operations group, you will be responsible for supporting Appleʼs Global Compute Infrastructure, maximizing uptime for services such as Pay, iCloud, Music, TV, Maps, News, FaceTime, Siri and more.
Key Qualifications
5+ Years experience in Linux/UNIX systems administration
5+ Years administration experience in virtualized and or containerized environments
Experience troubleshooting and isolating Software and Hardware issues within a Linux environment
Superb time management, organizational, and communication skills
Description
As a System Administrator with the Global Infrastructure Operations team, you will collaborate with team members and customers to build the relationships you will leverage in your day to day work. You will be responsible for using independent judgment and discretion to interact with internal/external teams through email, chat, and phone. You will investigate, identify and create solutions in a team environment that is highly challenging. The System Administrator will make recommendations for new processes that improve customer experience by improving the efficiency of operations work and workflows by driving automation and process improvements. Preferred Skills: – LPIC-1, RHCSA certification or higher – UNIX-related software/scripting development in one or more of the following: Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell – Experience with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Git, or other configuration management tools
