The Camera Technology Exploration Team identifies feature opportunities, develops new approaches, proposes innovative concepts & use case experiences, and adapts those across our products needs. The outcome of our prototyping efforts help define roadmaps for future sensing and imaging systems across our product line. The final goal for all of our investigations is to improve our products and bring up new features for our customers. Apple is seeking an energetic and highly motivated, world class Machine Learning Expert to help drive future camera and sensing hardware requirements to meet our product vision. The ideal candidate also has the capability to contribute to the assessments and prototyping of new technologies and features for our customers.
Key Qualifications
- Strong Machine Learning and deep neural network fundamentals, and hands-on experience developing and training ML models.
- Experience with ML explainability and performance assessment.
- Strong software development skills – Fluent in Python and Matlab.
- Experience with at least one of the major machine learning frameworks, preferably TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly and become familiar with several different technology areas.
- Ability to independently excel in an open and uncertain solution space environment.
Description
In the Camera Technology Exploration Team, we brainstorm to identify challenges and new use cases, build proof of concepts, prototype novel experiences around use of cameras and sensors, and come up with innovative technical solutions if required. You will participate in generating innovative ideas and concepts which you will then implement in software or hardware prototypes. You will communicate cross-functionally with Camera Hardware & Software teams to present ideas and proposals.
Education & Experience
MS, or PhD in computer science, optical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, image science, or related field.
Additional Requirements
- Highly Preferred:
- Expertise in computational imaging and computer vision.
- Experience with end-to-end camera system modeling.
