Director, Human Resources – Lexington, SC
The Blueprint (Role Profile)
Apex Tool Group is looking for a strategic HR Director to support the $150M North America Global Power Tools business unit. Based in Lexington, SC and reporting to the Sr. Director Human Resources – Global Power Tools, this role will develop and execute programs to drive growth, ensure associate engagement and achieve business until goals and objectives. The successful candidate will proactively support approximately 600 sales, marketing, and research & development associates throughout the U.S., and is the responsible HR Business Partner for our productions sites in Lexington, SC, Dayton, OH, Auburn Hills, MI and Niagara, Canada.
The Build (Responsibilities)
* Partner with department leads to develop and implement plans to deliver business unit initiatives such as reorganization/realignment, workforce planning and optimization, and performance management to support the business unit’s goals and objectives.
* Drive the organization to retain, attract, develop and reward high performing talent in partnership with Talent Acquisition team.
* Lead, develop and manage North American HR team that supports Global Power Tools consisting of 3 HR professionals.
* Proactively lead performance management process across the commercial organization to support business goals, ensure associate development and maintain an inclusive work environment.
* Provide proactive HR support for a large, geographically dispersed workforce.
* Exemplify a high standard of integrity with the ability to gain trust, maintain confidentiality and influence decisions.
* Analyze metrics to identify needs, understand root causes, and implement countermeasures.
* Drive efficiencies in HR processes through utilizing lean principles.
* Advise leadership team on all aspects of human resources; reinforce appropriate leadership behaviors and drive adherence to core values.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; may consider 9+ years of experience in lieu of degree; Master’s degree preferred.
* PHR or SPHR preferred.
* 7+ years as HR business partner experience supporting multiple functions across multiple states; experience supporting commercial organizations strongly preferred.
* Experience driving HR processes, in partnership with the business, related to talent acquisition, talent review, organizational design, etc.
* Process oriented with proven experience facilitating change in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills and the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
* Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
* Experience in managing other HR professionals preferred.
* Able to travel up to 20+% (domestic).
