What the day will look like
As Compensation Manager, you will provide excellent client service to aligned client groups by responding to People Org and business unit leadership inquiries relative to compensation policies & programs. This includes:
- Conducting training (live, webinars, presentations, etc.) on the use of compensation data and programs, and proposing compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, and job changes.
- Collaborate with Aon’s comp team to administer compensation programs, project delivery, ensure continuous process improvement, etc.
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual cycle by contributing to the development and delivery of communication and learning resources, testing of system capabilities, performing data integrity checks (e.g., eligibility, bonus targets, management hierarchy alignment), etc.
- Assist the annual comp cycle with key activities that include ensuring reward principles and guidelines, budgets and deadlines are adhered to. Provide ad-hoc analysis reports as needed to management and PO team and perform regular data checks to catch input errors.
- Aid the annual market analysis process to include survey submissions, review of results to assess market movement and evaluation of market competitiveness.
- Complete job level evaluation and benchmarking requests for new and existing positions using external/internal market data analysis; working closely with People Organization team to provide guidance and education on Aon’s job level system as applicable.
- Assess the effectiveness and competitiveness of compensation programs, making recommendations for improvement.
- Assists in the creation and documentation of various plans (e.g., sales incentive plans, bonus plans, etc.).
- Supports job architecture initiatives and interacts with HRIS team to ensure jobs are created in a timely manner.
How this opportunity is different
This colleague will support all elements of compensation administration, including base pay and variable compensation. This position will be responsible for providing client service and delivering innovative and effective solutions to internal clients in partnership with the Global Compensation team and People Organization (HR) as well as actively supporting clients during the annual compensation review cycle.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Self-starter with ability to find opportunities, willingness to take ownership of initiatives and able to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with HR Management systems (e.g., Workday); Advanced technical skills in Excel with Intermediate skills in other Microsoft Office applications
- Able to develop strong relationships with colleagues across the Company (e.g., People Organization, Finance, Business)
Education: Undergraduate degree required or equivalent; 5+ years of relevant experience in an analytical role required (Compensation, Human Resources, HRIS, Finance).

The salary range for this position is $88,500 – $100,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
