Chief Operating Officer, Aon’s Human Capital Business – Flexible on locations in US, UK or EMEA
Aon is looking for a Chief Operating Officer who is responsible for defining and continuously evolving the Aon Business Services (ABS) portfolio and product roadmap aligned to business / Solution Line goals and strategy. This leader duel reports to Aon’s CEO of Human Capital and the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, and will lead a team of high proficiency pooled resources that will support the portfolio of ABS products and services to meet and exceed quality and value delivery key performance objectives.

What the day will look like
- Developing a high-level operating model and portfolio strategy inclusive on digital product enablement and product vision for the Solution Line that ties to the overall global Aon and ABS strategic goals and direction serving Human Capital (Health, Wealth & Talent) leaders
- Developing a client experience strategy that differentiates Human Capital products in markets
- Prioritizes programs and demand based on overall business value, balancing global vs regional needs to optimize investments and utilization of global services / capabilities to meet strategic objectives of significant growth while continuing margin expansion
- Laser focused on speed/path to value realization enabling differentiated client and carrier experiences
- Fostering innovation and continuous value, orchestrating internal and external multi-functional partners to define, validate and refine ABS product and platform vision, strategy, and roadmaps
- Operating the Aon / Technology governance processes that enable prioritization across multiple options, decisions impacting the Solution Lines and ultimately the overall ABS budget
- Responsible for leading the risk profile across the multiple product teams of a technology stack inclusive of end-to-end processes and systems across the Human Capital global portfolio
- Responsible for risk compliance across data privacy and cyber security protecting client and Aon data inclusive of global, regional and local regulatory requirements

- Familiar with the latest global Human Capital (Health, Wealth & Talend) and global business services trends, technologies, standards, products, and applicability
- Data based management through key business parameters/critical metrics to evaluate efficacy of products and solutions and connection to overall Aon/ABS strategy
- Ability to develop a strategic plan, operating plan, and relevant business and planning discussions effectively and independently at the most senior level
- Lead prioritization to enabled focus on delivering sustainable processes end to end with value realization while ensuring long-term sustainability and a risk led control environment
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients and external network
- Establish credibility with key partners and clients through day-to-day interactions
- Demonstrate problem solving techniques to best meet the need; recognized as a solution provider for sophisticated issues
- Set realistic expectations and timelines with internal and external clients and produce results

Goals for the role:
- Enable integrated data collection and application across Human Capital to unlock client value and drive new revenue streams, enabling quick wins
- Ensure a best-in-class end to end client experience tailored to economic buyers that builds trust, leading satisfaction and loyalty
- Develop a roadmap for HCS solutions to optimize revenue generation, client experience, balanced against budget goals and efficient delivery
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Functional
- Demonstrated strategic planning capabilities in developing product roadmaps in partnership with Product Managers across Human Capital with a strong background in Health preferred
- Experience in balancing country, region, and global needs across a solution line portfolio
- Deep industry knowledge and insights into key competitors’ strategies and product roadmaps across Health, Wealth & Talent
- Demonstrated experience in Product and Portfolio Management across multiple segments including consolidating disparate products into a unified portfolio focused on scaled capabilities
- Experience in focused, sustainable value realization partnering across a highly matrixed organization
- Experience in building and managing a portfolio of products and services providing global capabilities across Health, Wealth and Talent
- Experience in translating product and services strategy into cost to serve models designing optimal support strategies in partnership with shared operations
Technical
- Experience in leading products and services maximising technologies across Health, Wealth and Talent in areas such as Benefits, data & analytics, retirement and benefits
- Experience in building and using technology to provide industry leading capabilities across Human Capital
- Good understanding of the portfolio components in-scope
- Proven ability to lead and prioritize product roadmaps and portfolio prioritization
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum 15 years’ related experience managing product portfolios and operations for $1 billion+ portfolios
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with major clients to cultivate and maintain strong relationships at a most senior level
- Strong market presence within the industry
- Cross-cultural sensitivity to engage with, prioritize and inspire change across a global organization
- Excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing)
- Entrepreneurial attitude with high level of accountability for efficiency and client satisfaction
- Excellent organization and time management skills; able to multi-task and lead projects and direct reports
- Ability to drive team(s) to deliver the highest in service, quality, and results
- Previous formal people/organization management experience
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to make sound business decisions with experience in finance and operations
- Known problem-solver who anticipates issues and suggests creative solutions
- Ability to adopt and inspire change in support of the business unit’s and company’s goals

The salary range for this position for U.S. applicants is $350,000 – 450,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans, and Aon’s Long Term Incentive Plan in addition to base salary. The amount varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
