JOB OUTLINE: GENERAL MANAGER
Job Title: General Manager
Job Location: Grand Island, Nebraska
Reports to: Regional Operations Manager
Basic Purpose: The General Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the laundry plant. They must create a positive work environment and provide leadership and over-sight to Production, Transportation, and Engineering.
It is their responsibility to train his staff to manage the workforce as a functional team to achieve the highest level of plant productivity while maintaining safety, quality, reliability, and control over all operating costs.
It is also their responsibility to ensure that the budget targets are met for the plant.
The key outcome is to make our customers “Raving fans”, and doing whatever is required to ensure that the customers are satisfied.
Direct reports will include Production Supervisors, Drivers or
Subcontractors, and the Chief Engineer.
Major 1. Fulfill the commitment of the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Responsibilities: 2. Provide leadership, over-sight and supervision.
3. Coach and develop members of his supervisory team.
4. Ensure that all Team Members are effectively motivated, trained and understand their roles to achieve productivity, safety and cost control.
5. Measure and track that quality linens are being processed and shipped and customer satisfaction is being achieved.
6. Nurture and manage important Customer Relationships.
7. Prepare for and conduct regular Team Meetings as necessary for proper communications and team development.
8. Measure and track plant productivity, in Pounds per Operator Hour,
(POH).
9. Support company-wide performance measures and strive for constant improvements.
10. Closely monitor operating costs and there relationship to the budget.
Ensure that monthly financial projections of costs and revenues are met and exceptions understood.
