Job Description:

The IT Vendor Management Consultant manages the relationship and monitors performance of Information Technology vendors contracted for the delivery of services. You will perform cost and spend analysis to identify cost effective solutions for existing and future contracts. You’re accountable to create plans to increase vendor engagement and align to overall Enterprise IT strategy. As a key member of the governance organization, the Vendor Management Consultant is the focal point between the vendor, other technology groups, and end-users, facilitating frequent communication and coordination among all parties.

Primary Accountabilities

• Design, standardize and deliver vendor and managed service governance, processes and tools.
• Drive alignment of vendor capabilities and offerings to business objectives and strategies. Create appropriate communication, change management & financial plans.
• Develop and execute vendor strategies that will reduce spend across the enterprise. Lead vendor consolidation and outsourced transition projects by providing vendor insights, best practices and change support.
• Design and lead support services to internal IT leaders including vendor management training, frameworks, best practices, transition services and consulting.
• Establishes and monitors service level agreements to ensure they continue to meet the needs of the business and implements adjustments where appropriate. Audits contractual compliance, solicits feedback from users, and communicates scorecards to vendors. Generates dashboards showing an enterprise view of performance and cost for executive-level briefing.
• Determines benchmarking requirements as well as reviews and approves the benchmarking results.
• Analyze the feedback received from various stakeholders and translate into supplier requirements to be shared with supplier and service managers. Determine the impact and modifications that may be required for vendor contract or service.

Qualifications:

• IT Vendor Management experience including relationship management, score cards, SLA’s, cost management, contract T&C…required
• Workday Strategic Sourcing and/or Simplify experience strongly preferred
• Business Intelligence reporting tool experience
• Experience in a large, matrixed enterprise
• Supplier side account executive experience will be considered

This position is a hybrid role that involves working a minimum of 10 days per month in the office. We know flexibility is important to our employees and their families, and we will continue to offer flexibility in this flex office/home role. This approach will guide us in balancing the needs of the business, customers and our employees.

The preferred location for this role is Madison, WI but additional consideration will be given to markets including: Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Minneapolis, MN; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
• Demonstrated experience in managed services governance and/or outsourcing contracts
• Demonstrated experience in providing vendor governance/compliance, strategy, performance, relationship, and stakeholder management guidance and support
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills for managing disputes and driving change in vendor behaviors, and creating a working environment where vendors strive to meet performance goals
• Analytical approach to problem-solving. Attention to results and with a sense of urgency
• Demonstrated experience assessing the potential risk of an escalated issue and use business skills to evaluate impact and alternatives
• Solid knowledge and understanding of managed service best practices, policies and procedures
• Strong communication skills. Experience delivering targeted messages to the appropriate audience: verbally, visually, and in writing
• Working knowledge of ITIL/service management best practices
• Demonstrated experience working with senior executives to present and gather information
• Demonstrated experience in project management
