DEFINITION
Under the supervision of the Dean of Academic Affairs, performs a wide range of responsible instructional support, tutorial, and clerical duties related to the operation of the ARC; values and promotes the mission and vision of the college.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
Under general supervision, incumbents in this position work closely with faculty members and classified staff in providing instructional assistance for students enrolled in programs of study. The incumbent must know basic computer usage and must demonstrate competency in English grammar. In addition, the incumbent must exercise sound judgment and demonstrate initiative in aiding and tutoring students. The incumbent must provide a calm, efficient, and effective lab environment.

A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree or higher with experience relevant to English, English As A Second Language, or foreign languages, or graduation from high school, and three years of responsible experience relevant to the position.
The desired start date is March 2024. This is a part-time, 16 hours per week, 10-month classified position.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Thursday, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
*Bargaining unit employees whose regular work schedule requires work after 6:00 p.m. and before 6:00 a.m. for two (2) or more days per week shall receive a shift differential according to the following schedule:
9.3.2 Two-and-half percent (2.5%) above their regular rate of pay for all hours worked provided the shift includes two (2) hours between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
