Job Summary:
The Incumbent will provide dynamic, strategic campus leadership in planning, developing, executing, and assessing the strategic enrollment management plan for Alcorn State University. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, the AVP is charged with the development of a Strategic Enrollment Plan supporting university initiatives and is responsible for developing and achieving admissions goals for both undergraduate, graduate and online programs.
The AVP collaborates with the Vice President for Marketing and Communications along with university executives, deans and academic program directors to attract, recruit and enroll new students to Alcorn. The AVP is also responsible for leading programs, outreach, and services to effectively support student success from inquiry through job placement. The Office for Enrollment Management includes undergraduate, graduate, and online admissions and scholarships, financial aid, Parent and Family Organization (new), and Career Services.

• Progressive and successful experience in higher education enrollment management, including recruitment, admission, retention and marketing for undergraduate and graduate audiences, and online and on-ground programs.

• Proactive leadership skills, with strong acumen in fostering teamwork and mentoring staff to fully develop their professional abilities.

• Provide institutional enrollment management leadership throughout the student life cycle, including student recruitment, retention, completion, and job placement.
• Supervise, motivate, and coach a team of enrollment professionals to achieve enrollment targets.
• Implement enrollment strategies and annual plans to meet institutional priorities as defined by the mission of the University, the Strategic Plan, and institutional goals.
• Work in conjunction with the University’s marketing team to produce a comprehensive and effective marketing plan for student recruitment and enrollment.
• Obtain, analyze, and utilize relevant primary and secondary data to inform planning, decision making, and management practice.
Essential Job Functions :
• Lead the admissions component of university initiatives and partnerships. Work collaboratively both internally and externally to help create MOUs with K12, community colleges, and other Universities, develop short-term action plans, and coordinate implementation for admissions offices.
• Collaborate with the VP, School Deans and Program Directors/Dept. chairs to set and meet enrollment targets.
• Collaborate with Deans and Graduate Program Directors to assess the marketability and recruitment potential of existing and new programs or certificates.
• Management of vendors including but not limited to Hobsons, EAB, others that develop in the future.
• Contribute to the communications process for prospective students and applicants by working collaboratively with the Office for Marketing and Communications.
• Develop and improve partnerships with K12 and community colleges; support maintenance and development of articulation agreements by working closely with the Registrar and Provost Office.
• Responsible for budget oversight in coordination with the VPEM.
• Review and analyze enrollment funnel data reports (i.e. Slate CRM, RNL, etc.) to optimize strategies to meet enrollment goals.
• Coordinate with IR and Director of Admission Operations to generate appropriate enrollment data and funnels to present to the President and Cabinet, VP of Enrollment, Enrollment Committee, academic program directors, etc.
• Create strategies based on enrollment data analysis and make data driven decisions to execute strategies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in admissions or enrollment management
