Description:
Albion College invites applications for the Director of Writing Consulting (part-time) position. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. The Director of Writing Consulting provides a diverse range of direct and indirect writing support to students, faculty, and staff, including managing the Writing Consulting program, providing direct writing support to individuals and groups of students, and providing support to students on academic status through the Albion College Engagement (ACE) program. Albion College is an anti-racist institution. The person in this position will actively promote diversity, belonging and equity in all of their interactions with others on campus, especially historically marginalized students, faculty, and staff (e.g., those who are historically under-represented, first-generation, undocumented and DACA, LGBTQ, and BIPOC).

FLSA Classification: Hourly / Non-Exempt
Full-Time/Part-Time: Part-Time (28 hours/week)
Position Duration: 10 months per year (August 1 – May 31)
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in English or related field required with expertise in Writing Center theory and practice and/or another Writing Studies area;
Classroom teaching experience preferred, ideally in a range of writing-focused subject areas, including teaching developmental writing at the college level;
Experience providing academic writing support to a broad range of students in a college setting required, including students academically at-risk and/or with learning disabilities
Experience conducting workshops for faculty, staff, and students, along with knowledge of instructional and adaptive reading and writing technologies preferred
