Job Description:College for Kids at Aims Community College provides an educational summer program for students ages 9-12. The classes that are offered by this program are educational and inspiring while the environment is fun, creative and inviting. Each day participants will take two classes with a lunch break midday. Morning courses will run from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, Monday through Thursday. Afternoon courses will run from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.
College for Kids will have sessions in Fort Lupton, Windsor, Loveland and Greeley locations:
•Loveland: June 3rd- 6th
•Fort Lupton: June 10th-13th
•Windsor: June 17th-20th
•Greeley: June 24th-27th
The College for Kids (C4K) Instructor is responsible for providing creative and organized instruction to C4K students in desired content areas. Instructors will utilize appropriate College resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies available to complement the teaching and learning process while following C4K and Aims Community College policies and procedures.
Instructor time commitment is four days at one location. Instructors will teach a class in the morning and the same class in the afternoon for four days. Instructors are encouraged, but not required to teach at multiple campuses.
Job Duties:
Communicate with the College for Kids Coordinator and accompanying staff members efficiently and effectively throughout the program via verbal communication, phone call, or email.
Prepare and deliver instruction to students; providing Lesson Plan and Supplies per plan to Coordinator.
Demonstrate a sensitivity toward and respect for the myriad of diversities represented in the College for Kids program.
Work with colleagues to select appropriate textbooks and course materials while abiding by program decisions for said materials.
Prepare activities for assigned class(es) with supplies needed per each activity.
Responsible for the creation of curriculum in line with course objectives targeted towards the ages of 9-12 years of age.
Maintains student attendance records and roster(s).
Participate in the necessary training/orientation for College for Kids.
