22nd Century Technologies, Inc. Looking for Accounts Payable Specialist at Mount Laurel, NJ  Full Time

Job Description:

• Responsible for overseeing &/or administering timely and accurate payments to vendors and ensuring correct postings to and the overall accuracy of the Accounts Payable (A/P) System. An Accounts Payable Specialist is expected to operate with significantly more autonomy that an Accounts Payable Coordinator.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Oversee &/or process Invoices on a timely basis per the current Image Right A/P workflow.
• Oversee &/or obtain correct approvals per the current Image Right A/P workflow.
• Verify General Ledger coding of all invoices.
• Clarify any questionable invoice items and pricing with vendors and/or department managers.
• Oversee &/or verify all addresses and Fed Id#’s of vendors.
• Oversee &/or process check requests for employee reimbursements.
• Oversee &/or process Travel & Expense reports.
• Communicate any banking issues related to Accounts Payable payments, ACH transaction and/or wire transfers to the Accounting Manager.
• Oversee &/or process Reinsurance Carrier Payments.
• Analyze collected premiums to broker commissions due in the Broker Commission module.
• Administer agent commission reporting.
• Process Direct District/Agents’ Commissions checks
• Obtain Accounting Manager approval of General Ledger coding
• Review checks with check register to verify correct check number, check amount and vendor before release of check to vendor.
• Oversee &/or disburse/mail executed checks.
• Oversee &/or file supporting A/P documents in Image Right.
• Provide month-end A/P reports and assist in month-end closing.
• Assist with the year-end 1099 MISC processing.
• Resolve vendor issues.
• Assist and/or perform monthly bank reconciliations of the Assessment Collections, the Claims, and the Concentration accounts and forward to the Senior Staff Accountant for review/approval.

• Perform special assignments as directed by the Accounting Manager and/or the Chief Financial Officer.

• Adheres to company policies, procedures, guidelines and standards
• Other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or a related field) preferred and/or equivalent related professional training and experience.
• At least five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in Accounts Payable position (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications
• Planning and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• People Soft knowledge preferred – AP module.
