Position Overview:
The Sr Manager, People Business Partner is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for creating and implementing People plans to support business delivery through talent, organizational effectiveness and culture. This critical member of the business function’s leadership team reports to the Senior Director, People Business Partner and partners with several members of HomeServe USA’s Executive team in ensuring our people and organization are set up to thrive and deliver our growth ambitions. The position available at this time supports an entire business unit including field technicians, call center, management, and office staff. This individual contributor role will work directly with multiple unions to ensure positive relationship, open communication and progress toward established business objectives.
Responsibilities:
· Workforce Planning & Organizational Development – Leverage business understanding and talent data to develop and implement an effective People strategy for supported business; provide guidance on current and future state requirements; forecasts talent needs and crafts role profiles as needed to facilitate organization effectiveness
· Culture – build relationships throughout the organization to enhance culture and the employee experience; partner with business leaders to ensure employees are engaged, enabled and feeling valued; ensure we are upholding our People Promise
· Talent – Partners with Talent Acquisition to ensure a deliberate approach to attracting and retaining top talent from both inside and outside the organization; lead annual talent review and succession planning – supporting actions needed to develop the internal talent pipeline; partner with colleagues in Talent & Leadership and other Business Partners to implement innovative solutions to business needs
· Coaching and Team Development – Provide strategic business partnership and coaching to senior leaders; Design and facilitate organizational design and development, leadership coaching and team building to support high performing teams and growth
· Performance Management – Leads annual goal setting and year-end evaluation with business leaders. Supports managers in ensuring every person is consistently performing, receiving feedback and focusing on growth and development
· Total Rewards – Leads delivery of annual salary, bonus/commission, and equity planning process with business leaders; collaborates with Total Rewards to drive participation in annual benefits enrollment, wellness and recognition programs
· Employee Relations – Lead employee relations, working closely with managers and employees in addressing all areas of employee relations to ensure HomeServe’s People and Customer promises are front and center
· Labor Relations – Be the SME on the applicable union contracts, manage the grievance process, handle and hear grievances, facilitate local bargaining on business changes, manage internal union posting and selection process, and ensure the Union leadership and workforce understand the direction of the business
· Change Champion – Lead change initiatives to accelerate adoption and performance; administer and evaluate all HR processes, programs and policies with an eye to continuous improvement – always looking to enhance our efficiency, effective and employee experience
· HR leadership – Ensure delivery of human resources in a consistent, efficient and streamlined way, helping employees navigate the organization; provide strong leadership and counsel to business partners and across the HR team; participate in the development of top quality HR talent to ensure the highest levels of performance and productivity.
Qualifications:
· 10+ years of progressive HR experience; 5 years business partnering at a senior level
· Bachelor’s degree; MBA or master’s degree in Human Resources Management preferred
· 2-5 years of Union experience required
· Experience with trades and field staff is preferred
· Strong business acumen and ability to quickly understand and assimilate business context
· Demonstrated ability to independently lead in the design and execution of key people initiatives
· Experience learning and thriving in a fast paced, changing environment
· Detail oriented with strong communication, project management, and influencing skills
· Critical thinking skills with solid judgment and strong initiatives
· Ability to leverage data and derive insights to drive action
