Job Summary/Company:

A Sparks Group Partner is seeking a Tech Support Specialist/Systems Administrator to join their team. The Specialist will serve as a SME on functional and technical aspects of the platform. This is a hybrid position; currently working 1 day a week in the office. The site locations are Dallas, TX, Winston-Salem, NC, or NYC. Responsibilities:

• Develop technical specifications for software vendor in development of new functions and features
• Coordinate the deployment of software and configure per project requirements
• Work with Quality Assurance to ensure the quality of software deliverables
• Assist support teams with troubleshooting production issues and escalate to vendor as necessary
• Develop implementation/roll-out strategy for new releases
• Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated production issues; perform root cause analysis of issues
• Develop run-books for recurring issues, system implementation, shutdown, and recovery
• Support release implementation, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and disaster recovery testing

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of experience in the development and support of distributed financial services transaction processing platforms
• Solid understanding of distributed client server architecture
• Substantial hands-on experience with JAVA server-side technology and J2EE App server (preferably WebSphere)
• Strong knowledge of UNIX/LINUX commands, shell scripting, and database queries (troubleshooting as well as data patching)
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (DB2 preferred)
• Familiar with the basic function of SQL series, able to run ‘Select’ statements, create simple SQL query statements, and run simple SQL queries against a database
• COVID-19 vaccine: must be fully vaccinated
