Responsibilities

• Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Track children’s progress and report to parents
• Communicate with parents regularly
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Skills

• Proven experience as an early childhood educator
• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Friendly, reliable and LOVING!
• Certification in child CPR (will train)

Qualifications

• Experience working with children
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children (Preferred)
• OR a degree with 30 credits in early childhood education OR an associate’s degree in early childhood education.
