Retirement Benefits Analyst
JigsawTek is looking for a resource with a specific background in the California-based pension systems as a retirement specialist to assist with benefit recalculations due to the Alameda decision of 2020.
This is a one-year assignment beginning in January with training from our client on their benefit calculations. You will be expected to learn and execute proficiently our clients methods and processes for performing complex benefit calculations specific to the Alameda Decision changes.
This role may also perform regression testing of the Pension Administration System (PAS). For testing, the client will provide the test scripts and expected results for their plan, then you would be tasked with performing the tests using the scripts, capturing the results and reporting them back to member services.
The testing would begin upon delivery of the update from their vendor. The goal would be to test all the core functions of the PAS system to ensure that the update worked properly and did not damage other parts of the system.
This is a one-year assignment in which we have 32 hour per week opportunity located in Santa Ana, California.
Knowledge of
Theory, principle and practice of calculations required to administer governmental defined benefit plans, including methods and procedures used to examine, verify and analyze payroll data, statements, and reports used in these benefit calculations.
Experience with the California County Employees’ Retirement Law of 1937 (CERL or 37 Act) is a plus. Experience in any California based Employee Retirement System is a requirement.
