Hoard’s Dairyman Farm Hiring for Herdsperson Job at Fort Atkinson, WI Full Time

The Hoard’s Dairyman Farm, a 120-year-old dairy farm, is seeking candidates to fill al full time Herdsperson position. The farm is located in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and home to the Nation’s oldest registered Guernsey herd. The herd ranks near the top of the breed genetically and market live cattle and embryos worldwide. The 300 cow herd is milked and cared for in a newly constructed robotic milking facility and work is underway to move calf care indoors to automatic calf feeders.

The Herdsperson’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of milking herd heath and ensure compliance of herd care protocols, fresh cow monitoring, newborn calf care, data analysis from milking and calf care software, and help provide a practical and positive experience to the farms nearly 3,000 yearly visitors. Artificial Insemination, Oral and IV fluid administration, skid loader operation, and basic knowledge of herd management software helpful but not required. Willing to train someone eager to learn.
