Position summary:
HR Specialist is responisble for applying business and human resources knowledge, while providing a wide range of HR support and advice. HR Specialist will handle unemployment, workers compensation and employee relations. Communicate, coach and assist field management staff with labor relations and HR practices while facilitating and maintaining a positive, professional relationship with subordinates, peers, superiors and customers.
Tasks:
· Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, and helping resolve work-related complications.
· Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions and wages.
· Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve employee relations.
· Develop or administer special HR projects.
· Adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.
· Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
· Research, compile, and prepare reports, correspondence, and other information required by management or governmental agencies such as unemployment.
· Maintains human resources system that meets top management information needs.
· Keeps personnel records such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations and employee statistics.
· Responds to inquiries regarding strategies, measures, and programs.
· Identify ways to improve policies and procedures.
· Trains and provides support to HR team members.
· Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
· Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual impairments in efficiency of department and services performed.
· Handle unemployment, workers compensation and employee relations.

Experience And Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or 3-5 year HR Generalist experience. Knowledge of CA labor laws and regulations is a plus.
