Langston University Looking for Grant Development Specialist Full Time
JOB SUMMARY:
The Division of Academic Affairs seeks applications for a Grant Development Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and writing of proposals, applications, agreements, and contracts for the University. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and written communication skills and database experience. The incumbent will report directly to the Director of Title III and Sponsored Programs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates opportunities for sustained revenue sources
- Provides professional grant seeking expertise
- Provides technical assistance to project developers, including coordination of grant writing
- Collaboratively write grants for the University
- Interface with program officers and grant agencies
- Read and review relevant grant opportunities
- Consult with faculty members to design and develop grant projects
- Conduct research studies in collaboration with faculty and team members
- Lead training sessions, workshops, and seminars related to conducting action research
- Collaborate with program officers and grant agencies

- Collaborate with University employees, student employees, learning designers, platform providers, and external colleagues on matters related to research and grants
- Maintain knowledge of federal and state laws that impact the administration of funded grant projects, as well as funding agency regulations to ensure compliance
- Performs other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Required: The successful candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year institution and have 1-3 years of federal grant writing and development experience. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and written communication skills; and computer literacy and previous database experience.
*Preference will be given to candidates that hold a master’s degree and those with experience in education or a related field.
