About the Role:

As a member of the Instructional Technology Team in Library and Information Technology (LITS), the Instructional Technologist for Data Science will make vital contributions to student success. Their central role will be working with faculty and students to explore and apply pedagogically sound technologies and data curation practices to teaching, learning and research. They will bring a passion for teaching undergraduates and keeping current with technology trends in higher education.

Qualified applicants will have a bachelor’s degree or and at least two years of professional experience providing technical support in an educational setting, teaching in a classroom or a workshop setting, and working with data science projects and related software (primarily RStudio).
Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree in data science, statistics, instructional technology, instructional design, or a related field, a Master of Library Science (MLS) or a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree, and three or more years of professional experience providing technical support in an educational setting, teaching in a classroom or a workshop setting, and working with data science projects.
Additionally, you are knowledgeable about current teaching trends, pedagogies, and technologies in higher education. You are skilled in instructional design practices, including knowledge of accessibility and universal design for learning principles. You enthusiastically explore new ideas and embrace new initiatives. You also demonstrate an ability and willingness to support, respect and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds, values and point of view to build a strong and inclusive community.
