JOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineering Inspector
SUMMARY: The Mechanical Engineering Inspector is responsible for reviewing design to mitigate roadblocks and coordinate engineering teams for constructability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform initial, follow up, and final system walk downs
Work closely with contractors, and subcontractors to make sure industry and customer specific procedures are met
Understand and enforce regulations, codes, and industry standards for inspection of plumbing, HVAC, PVC, and PVDF.
Work with key stakeholders to plan and organize activities concerned with construction projects; discuss such matters as work procedures and quality issues
Record and organize all necessary documentation to record the implementation, maintenance and effectiveness of the QA program
Complete all QA documentation and any other reports that are required for the project
Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress
Work with and communicate effectively with subcontractors, superintendents, office staff, engineering staff, consultants, and owner’s representatives to facilitate project activities
Represent company in pre-construction, design, and project meetings and attend operations meetings
Perform final QA inspection on installations
Answering questions of a technical nature during project execution
Review with system owner and provide technical verification of hardware and configuration of installations per design documents
Ensure equipment and overall system OAT/FAT process meets expectations
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ Mechanical QA experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Semiconductor or industrial exp.
2D/BIM design experience required
Excellent troubleshooting skills for all aspects of mechanical systems
Complete understanding of mechanical systems used in industrial or high-tech environments including API codes and requirements
Knowledge of systems must include all field and workshop fabrication/construction protocols and means and methods as outlined by semiconductor industry standard specifications including systems testing and acceptance
Must be able to read P&ID (Piping/Mechanical and Instrumentation Diagrams)
Familiarity SMACNA
Computer skills required: MS Office, Bluebeam, PowerPoint

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including protective eye wear, hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators.
Must be able to safely access and traverse indoor and outdoor obstacles for site inspections, including climbing ladders, walking on stairs, catwalks, and other types of uneven surfaces where activity inspections are needed.
