Position:
Full-time, nine-month, non-renewable Lecturer position (Class # 9753) in the Equine program within the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota starting August 12, 2024. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and a competitive fringe benefits package is offered. Lecturers are eligible for professional development support. Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction to students in the Equine Science and Equine Management (B.S) programs. Course assignments may include Western Equitation, Light Horse Driving, Hunt Seat Equitation, Rider Instructor Training, Concepts in Dressage Equitation, Saddle Seat Equitation, and other courses depending on interest and need. This position requires a commitment to an experiential learning educational philosophy within the land grant mission of the university. The successful candidate is expected to provide undergraduate academic and career advising, advise program-related extracurricular clubs and actively participate in recruitment, assessment, and retention efforts. The responsibilities also include developing and maintaining a strong industry support network as well as career guidance and placement for students. The position requires regular office hours and engagement in service activities on the University of Minnesota Crookston campus.
