Plant Operator Intern/Trainee

Summary of internship:

This internship provides entry-level exposure to the exciting world of Wastewater/Water Treatment Plant Operations. You will get hands-on experience in monitoring, operating, and performing basic preventative maintenance on equipment at wastewater/water treatment plants (pumps, valves, filters, chlorination systems).

Through routine inspections, you’ll identify potential issues and gain skills in troubleshooting and data analysis. This internship you will gain the skills and experience necessary to launch a rewarding career as a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.

The hiring rate for this position is:

$18/hour

Regular duties will include:

• Conducting routine inspections and identifying potential issues
• Monitoring plant processes and water quality
• Performing basic preventative maintenance tasks
• Assisting with data collection and record keeping.
• Other duties may include completing related tasks as assigned.

Expectations:

• Ability to work a minimum of 3 days / 6 hours per day

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• A willingness to learn and a desire to pursue a career in plant operations.
• Proficient computer skills
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain basic equipment.
• Effective multitasking skills
• Excellent communication skills
• A strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
