Toward that end, the Scott lab investigates the role resident memory T cells in leishmaniasis. In conjunction with Dr. Scott, this individual will be expected to establish and execute key projects related skin immunology, as well as help lead the scientific management of other personnel and projects in the laboratory.Job Description

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Independently develop experiments to investigate the interactions of the skin microbiome with the host immune system, focusing on Tregs and the influence on Leishmania infections in mice
• Mentor junior postdoc and graduate student
• With all lab members, help to coordinate projects related to the skin microbiome and leishmaniasis
• Perform other duties as assigned

This position is contingent upon grant funding.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy, and 5 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience is required.

• Extensive experience working in a lab; extensive experience working with experimental animals (mice);

• Extensive knowledge of immunology, and specifically skin immunology

• Experience working with the skin microbiome; experience working with Leishmania parasites.
