Role Objective
Calibrates and adjusts instruments to meet conformance standards, cGMP compliance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provides oversight of calibration technology focusing on precision, accuracy, cost, compatibility to environment, availability, reliability, and procurement of gauges
- Reads quality control manual specifications and test manuals to obtain information on performing testing and calibrating activities on specific device
- Sets up, activates, and operates standardized test equipment to measure accuracy of device being tested
- Performs traceable calibration procedures according to established standards
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses faults with gauging equipment
- Performs and organizes repair and maintenance of gauges and related equipment
- Maintains calibration standards
- Develops and implements training for gauge users
- Confers with engineers, supervisor, and other technical workers to assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and repair techniques
Education and Experience
- Associates degree in Metrology or other engineering/technical specialty or equivalent specialty training or certification, including five (5) years’ experience in a metrology lab
- Strong mechanical, electronic, and measurement science skills and experience are required
- Working knowledge of the use and maintenance of calibration artifacts a must
- Ability to use and write calibration procedures a plus
- Basic PC skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access) required
- Strong interpersonal skills a plus
