Job Summary
The Hospital Quality Reporting Programs Supervisor in the Adult Quality Improvement division of the Department of Quality & Patient Safety is primarily responsible for regulatory quality reporting and supporting the organization’s strategic goals of improving clinical outcomes, achieving zero harm, and attaining top performance in designated external ratings and rankings. In collaboration with key stakeholders and partners, the candidate will also be part of a systematic approach to advancing UCSF Health’s analytic maturity and maintaining and enhancing the quality and safety of patient care.
Under the general direction of the Director of Adult Quality Improvement, the Hospital Quality Reporting Programs Supervisor will:
* Supervise and oversee the work of QI staff who perform detailed technical work related to clinical chart review, patient-level data collection, data entry, and performance improvement in support of the Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) clinical chart-abstracted measures and other regulatory quality reporting requirements as needed.
* Assure accuracy and timeliness of reporting of publicly reported quality measures and adherence to regulatory quality reporting requirements.
* Oversee CMS clinical documentation audits in collaboration with key stakeholders.
* Participate in establishing, organizing, and driving improvement tactics and deliverables associated with strategies to improve CMS Stars and other associated external rankings.
* Review, monitor, and provide content expertise/consultation to key stakeholders and partners in improving CMS hospital ratings, rankings, and payment programs.
* Work independently and in collaboration with all staff and physician leaders to identify/implement strategies to improve the quality of care to patients of the medical center and external rankings.
* Identify potential issues in the care delivery process as a result of data monitoring and formulate workgroup(s) to resolve the issue and ensure new processes are in place to improve the delivery of care.
* In support of internal and external quality initiatives, apply extensive knowledge of quality data analysis and/or improvement concepts, methodologies, and data collection and abstraction
techniques to substantial projects of large scope and high degrees of complexity.
* In support of designated clinical departments, partner with physicians in a team-based approach to drive the program and maintain an open dialogue to achieve true north goals.
* Demonstrate the ability to organize, assign, track, and follow up on issues across multiple streams of work and manage resources to meet established deadlines or escalate in a timely fashion.
* Contribute to strategic plans and policies that have impact throughout the medical center.

Adult Quality Improvement (AQI) is a division within the Department of Quality & Patient Safety (DoQS) that provides clinical quality improvement program support to adult medical and surgical departments. AQI manages CMS and Joint Commission quality reporting programs, supports several clinical outcomes registries, and coordinates hospital-wide and multi-hospital quality initiatives and collaborations.
