Summary of Job Duties:This position serves as the Executive Assistant to the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Director. The Executive Assistant provides high level assistance with day to day institute operations to the Director. Responsible for all matters relative to the Director’s calendar, travel, correspondence, communications and administrative events and activities. Arranges and coordinates special projects and events for the Director including communicating to both clinical and laboratory individuals. The Executive Assistant must be detail-oriented, self-directed, motivated, team-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task with excellent organizational, problem-solving, time management, communication and interpersonal skills.Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties: Provides high level administrative support to the Cancer Institute Director; responsibilities include maintaining the Director’s calendar and arranging and scheduling high level meetings with multiple faculty, staff, UAMS leadership and external stakeholders. Prepares correspondence for the Director, maintaining a high level of confidentiality and adhering to applicable state and federal regulations and UAMS policies. Assists in coordinating meetings and events for the institute. Coordinates Director’s complex travel arrangements and calendar, schedules appointments, directs correspondence for Director’s signature, maintains confidential files, processes incoming and outgoing mail, answers phones professionally and provides direction or routes calls to the appropriate individuals, and other related administrative responsibilities and duties. This person will be responsible for recognizing scheduling problems or conflicts and seeking solutions. Serves as institutional liaison to internal faculty and staff, other departments, visitors, and outside organizations.
Project Duties: Arranges and coordinates special projects for the Director. This person must have excellent people and organizational skills allowing multitasking in a high traffic area.
Other duties: Assume other duties as requested or assigned.
