Job Summary:
The Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs (ADFAs)
reports to the Dean of the School of Nursing (SoN) and serves as a member of the Dean’s Executive Leadership Team, which is responsible for
the development and implementation of the School’s strategic direction. The successful candidate works with executive leaders and all areas
of the school to coordinate faculty recruitment, retention, promotion, review, and development across the school. The ADFAs is responsible
for providing overall leadership and oversight for matters related to faculty development, including the establishing of programs, policies,
and processes that support faculty in their academic roles as educators, researchers, and translators. This position is required to have a
concurrent faculty appointment at a tenured professorial rank (Associate Professor or Professor).
Responsibilities:
– Coordinates Dean’s Office activities focusing on academic personnel, including oversight of
performance appraisal process for tenure track faculty, instructional academic staff (clinical faculty), and clinical health sciences
faculty.
– Facilitates and advances the promotion and tenure process, working collaboratively with faculty and staff across the school as
well as with outside parties.
– Oversees tenure-track faculty and instructional academic staff recruitment processes and works to
increase faculty diversity; handles arrangements for visiting candidates, interviews, and tenure track submissions.
– Oversees
preparation of tenure dossiers and other materials related to faculty recognition, in collaboration with faculty committees and at the
direction of the Dean.
– Works collaboratively with other areas to ensure timely delivery and robustness of new faculty onboarding.

Works collaboratively with the Associate and Assistant Deans on teaching assignments, professional development, and performance
management.
– Provides leadership, guidance, and support for enhanced collaboration among tenure track faculty and instructional academic
staff as well as across disciplines and academic programs.
– Provides leadership on shared governance practices and personnel policies
within the School and across campus.
– Serves as a resource to faculty on scholarly work and advancement of research agendas, in
collaboration with the Associate Dean for Nursing Research and Sponsored Programs.
– Serves as a member and/or resource person to SoN and
University committees, task forces, and work groups.

Education:
Required
PhD
Earned research doctorate
(PhD or equivalent) in Nursing or related field. If earned research doctorate is not in nursing, a graduate degree in nursing is
required.
Qualifications:
* More than 6 years of relevant work experience required, with increasing
responsibility and demonstrated leadership in health care and higher education.
* Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication
skills are required, with an open communication style that fosters trust, credibility, and understanding.
* Ability to navigate complex
academic and health care communities, building bridges and strong collaborative relationships with a range of internal and external
stakeholders.
* Supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to interact and influence at all levels of an organization and to work
collaboratively across functions and areas toward shared objectives.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching and conducting research in
nursing at university level. Candidates should have experience in coordinating school-wide initiatives in research-intensive nursing school
settings, facilitating academic-practice partnerships, and supervising academic personnel.
* For appointments at the rank of Associate
Professor or Professor with tenure, a substantial nationally recognized record of research, publication, teaching, and service meeting
criteria for a tenured faculty position at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is required.

Minimum salary for this A-basis (12-month) position is $100,000/year. In addition to base pay, the
