The University of Vermont invites applications for a faculty member at the rank of a Professor to serve as Chair of the Department of Physics with a starting date of August 19, 2024. The University of Vermont is the principal research institution in Vermont. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field, an active high-impact research program, and a record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This chair appointment and professorship brings a dedicated research budget and one prospective tenure-track recruitment in academic-year 2025-26 to ensure the growth and shape the future of the department.
