This full-time,
12-months; benefited position is responsible for counseling and advising a caseload of project participants, co-facilitating the TRIO 100
course; providing one-on-one and small group instruction; and developing workshops that assist with skill development, retention, and
graduation of participants. Academic Counselor coordinates the student advisory committee and the TRIO Emerging Leaders Program.

career, and leadership development.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
is required. Must be familiar with issues facing first-generation and low-income college students and students with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field such as college student personnel, higher education, or
counseling is preferred. Experience teaching or tutoring at the college level also preferred.

Requirements
The TRIO Achievement Program is located in the Center for Teaching & Learning with staff offices on the first floor
and the lower level. A student computer, common space, printer/fax machine, and conference/records room are located in the lower level area.
The building has a ramp and accessible doors on the first floor; there are stairs to the lower level and low-clearance ceilings.
The
TRIO Office is open 8 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend work are required, typically related to student
programming and conference attendance.
Physical Requirements
85% of time is spent sitting during student appointments and
staff meetings/development. Workshop/event facilitation involves standing, walking, lifting (10-20 lbs.), and carrying (10-20 lbs.). All
aspects of the position require the ability to speak, hear, and see.
