GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting the BH Electrophysiology and Arrythmia Operations Manager with the support, direction, and task delegation of the daily Electrophysiology clinic operations. Responsible for the provision and oversight of professional nursing care and medical care prescribed by the Licensed Healthcare Provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider). Collaborates with the BH Electrophysiology and Arrythmia Operations Manager to plan, design, implement and maintain programs, policies, and management systems of the overall EP clinic operations.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

4. *Performs nursing care that requires professional knowledge and judgment for assigned providers, including triage of patient follow-up, patient teaching, and abnormal test result communication. Provides care in a non-judgmental, compassionate, non-discriminatory manner, remaining sensitive to the patient’s diversity, autonomy, dignity and rights.
5. Monitors patient caseload for high-risk patients, compliance with provider orders, and follow-up appointments and referrals.
6. Triages and responds to calls from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes and other medical offices by use of telephone and computer in a timely manner. Responds appropriately to urgent/emergent situations, documents as necessary and manages transfer of care.
7. Uses data sets and reporting tools to assist in assessing performance, establishing targets, monitoring indicators and trends, evaluating performance results and planning for continuous improvement. Works with providers and staff to maximize patient flow, promote efficiency, ensure clinical documentation integrity, increase productivity and use of clinical resources based on patient provider needs.
8. Assists in effectively resolving the clinical concerns of patients, families and providers.
9. Assists with developing and implementing action plans to optimize patient, staff and provider satisfaction and engagement.
10. *Assists with staff scheduling, selection and retention of staff, training, education and competencies. Ensures applicable privacy and security requirements and intervenes as necessary. Serves as a resource for consistent application of policy and procedure within the organization.
11. Collaborates with a manager for maintenance of physical facilities, changes, moves and/or improvements as appropriate for safe, efficient and effective clinical operations.
12. Promotes and adheres to organization-specific or health system competencies and policies/procedures.
13. Maintains effective supply chain practices within assigned clinic(s). Collaborates with manager on recommended opportunities for increased efficiency. Collaborates with other Bryan Heart leaders to contribute to and lead other initiatives as assigned.
14. Complies with HIPAA and maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, staff, and providers.
15. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
16. Participates in and/or leads meetings, committees, strategic planning, and lean projects as assigned.
17. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Maintains clinical competency as required for the unit, including but not limited to, age-specific competencies relative to patient’s growth and developmental needs, annual skill competency verification, and mandatory education and competencies.
2. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred. Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Two (2) years of experience in clinic setting required. Two (2) years of cardiology experience is preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of leadership or management experience preferred.
