Job Summary
Reporting to the District Director of Financial Aid, the Director of Financial Aid Systems and Operations is responsible for overseeing all financial aid systems and operations for the district. These operations include overseeing all aspects of both Federal and State Loan programs. This position provides leadership of a team and is a member of the department’s senior leadership team tasked with implementing changes and new Student Financial Aid Services programs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements*
- Oversees all systems and operations at the district office: awards financial aid, imports FAFSA data, sends communications emails, and financial aid disbursements
- Administers all aspects of the Federal Direct and State Loan Programs: Monthly reconciliation, resolving loan issues in the Federal or State system, updating all loan forms, and all loan policies and procedures
- Responds to ad-hoc financial aid data requests, IPED’s reporting, and other survey requests
- Participates as a member of the Financial Aid Leadership Team
- Assesses and ensures TCC’s financial aid compliance with Federal and State financial aid regulations
- Oversees vendor relationships with the College, verification processing, and a financial aid inbound call center
- Determines how to solve student issues and assists campus Financial Aid Offices with system and student issues
General Supervision and Management
- Provides team leadership including personnel management, evaluation, and development of assigned tasks for direct reports
Service Excellence
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, creativity, and service to the College
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
- Works under the general supervision of the District Director of Financial Aid
*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree and five (5) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three (3) years’ experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a community college setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Federal and State Financial Aid programs and regulations
- Knowledge of Financial Aid Computer Systems
- Knowledge of Federal and State Loan programs
- Skilled in organization and managing multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
- Skilled using financial aid systems and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to meet College and campus deliverables
