Job Responsibilities
Independently manage and provide pre-award support for 13 faculty with the annual proposal applications. Prepare, review and submit proposal budgets for diverse sponsor portfolio and assist in other proposal development activities. Advise investigators regarding actions needed to bring proposals into compliance.
Responsible for the overall financial management of the Grant portfolio and other financial matters of the department. Provide post-award financial administration support for individual investigators for managing $12M grant portfolio which include multi-center grants, clinical trials and sub contracts. Monitor grant expenditures for compliance and take or recommend corrective actions as needed. Works very closely with payroll coordinator and purchasing and accounts payable coordinator to ensure appropriate expenses are being allocated to appropriate grant funds.
Develop tools and reports for faculty and advise them on monitoring and maintaining their overall research portfolio including internal pilot awards, ACC awards, gifts, and endowments. Understand the lab in order to be a valued partner to the faculty member
Independently develop, produce and communicate specialized research related financial reports, financial planning for investigators. Meet monthly to review their funds and total research portfolio.
Make recommendations on how to ensure compliance with effort reports. Monitor effort and oversee the completion of effort reports and serve as a resource for the faculty related to the NIH FCOI process and HIPAA compliance.
Liaison to the University’s Office of Research Services and the School of Medicine’s Office of Research Support Services.
Assist Admin and Financial Officer with sponsored programs and annual budget submissions.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 years of grant and contract administration/accounting/ business administration experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Strong proficiency in Excel and Business Objects.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in University financial and research administration accounting systems preferred.
Hybrid eligible upon successful completion of introductory period.
