Kearney & Company is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our team! This Sr. Financial Analyst will serve within a Data Management team supporting a high visibility Federal CFO office. This role will be focused on assessing data quality, accuracy, completeness, and governance of financial, procurement and asset management data throughout the data lifecycle. This role will require a general understanding of federal financial management, federal audit, and the federal budget process. A successful candidate will have demonstrated critical thinking skills, solid written and verbal communication, knowledge, and experience of federal financial management, understanding of the federal accounting transaction lifecycle, understanding of the USSGL, federal accounting scenarios and posting logic, financial reconciliation approaches/techniques, federal transactional data, and ability to support accounting record maintenance and cleanup in preparation for system migration. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support researching and resolving transactions and discrepancies within Fund Balance with Treasury, Financial General Ledger, Working Capital Funds/Intragovernmental, IPACs/G-Invoicing, Accounts Receivables, and Accounts Payables
- Support the development and maintenance of financial operation metrics and recommendations for improvements in operations
- Assist with manual vouchers and support to correct financial reporting discrepancies, validation issues and GTAS edit checks
- Analyze large, unstructured, and complex financial, procurement, and asset management data sets identifying anomalies, issues, and approaches to resolve discrepancies
- Participate in cross functional working group sessions by planning, facilitating, and creating materials to timely accomplish activities
- Perform financial data reconciliations across a broad range of subledgers and general ledger
- Ability to apply federal financial accounting policy and regulations
- Support data cleanup tasks including transaction research, analysis, and outreach to customers
- Perform stakeholder identification and management as required
- Support implementing process changes to augment, or remediate issues regarding internal controls over financial reporting
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Data Management, Management/Business Information Systems, or equivalent with a minimum of 2.5 years of financial management work experience
- Experience in a federal consulting environment
- Advanced MS Excel, MS Access, and/or data analytic software skills
- Ability to analyze complex financial data sets, identify data anomalies, issues, and define approaches to resolve discrepancies
- Ability to translate business requirements to technical solutions while identifying gaps
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements and deadlines
- Have familiarity with data discovery to take an unknown data set and extract meaning
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with a core financial system within a federal agency
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, SQL, and OLAP/OLTP
- Experience with Federal financial accounting policy and guidance
- Experience with data analytics software and visualizations
- Self-starter with the abilityto work independently and as part of a team, as required
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task across both business and technical deliverables
- Familiarization with the Federal USSGL and transaction posting to a core financial system’s general ledger

The expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $95,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
