The Research Specialist will be responsible for researching and annotating scholarly and archival resources for the online guide Affrilachia: A Guide to Exploring African American Life in Appalachia. The project is funded by a Carnegie-Whitney Grant from the American Library Association and is a partnership between Clemson University Libraries and Hunter Library at Western Carolina University. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
50% – Essential – Accessing library materials in both print and online for research & writing.
50% – Essential – Annotate scholarly and archival resources for the online guide Affrilachia.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – High School or Equivalent – Professional experience involving research, data management and record-keeping activities. A bachelor’s degree with mathematics and/or statistics courses may be substituted for the required work experience.

Standard Hours: 15; Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.14/hour – $20.00/hour
