Purpose
In the role of Program Manager I you will be working independently, under the direction of the Director of Administration, Center Director, or Center Associate Director to manage the activities of Center-wide programs. Provide direction and guidance to faculty and staff to facilitate the achievement of program goals.
Primary Functions
* Assist faculty and staff with post-award grant startup, including IRB approvals and Reliance, interactions with community organizations, appropriate staffing, ClinicalTrials.gov registration, and other related functions (e.g., research milestone reporting).
* Supervise Program Coordinators and Research Associates: provide guidance, develop staff talent, lead the EMERGE process, approve timecards, and assist with hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions
* Assist faculty and administrative staff with pre-award functions, including funding proposal preparation, budget drafts, staffing and effort level recommendations, and other related pre-award activities.
* Coordinate the development of program materials including educational/intervention materials, marketing materials, websites, forms, and reports.
* Schedule people and material resources. Train program staff, including those not located at MCW.
* Oversee the collection, analysis, maintenance, and dissemination of research grant data.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies.
* Maintain program timeline including tracking deadlines for program deliverables.
* Organize internal and external meetings, site visits, and special events.
* Lead large, complicated research projects, especially those involving several performance sites, staff, and/or subcontractors.
* Manage unique/special projects, which may include international research, personnel development, and/or community engagement functions.

Specifications
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Non-profit Management, Humanities, or related field
Minimum Required Experience: 6 years of management experience in academic or non-profit organizations
Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Business or Non-profit Management, Human Resources, Humanities, or related field
Preferred Experience: 6 years of management experience in academic, non-profit, or business organizations. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preference given to candidates with experience in IRB relations and/or NIH grant preparation. Knowledge of MCW systems (e.g., IRB, eBridge, EMERGE) strongly preferred.
Certification: CITI Social/Behavioral Research Ethics certification required within 10 business days of hire
